Molly Ringwald and her daughter Mathilda Gianopoulos dazzled as they attended the American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala, honoring Katie Couric, on Tuesday, October 24. The actress, 55, and her daughter, 20, both looked stunning as they each wore sequin dresses on the red carpet in New York City. They looked ready for fun as they posed for photos together.
Molly sported a long-sleeve dress with sequins all over it, glittering as she walked on the red carpet. She completed the outfit with a pair of red heels. The Pretty in Pink star also had on bright red lipstick, complimented by her signature red hair. She also carried a matching clutch for the event. Mathilda wore a shorter, sleeveless dress with a geometric design on it, and it also appeared that she had a matching clutch.

On Instagram, Molly also posted photos of her and her daughter posing with designer Zac Posen and dancer/choreographer Harrison Ball. She also posted an “after party” photo with the four of them striking a silly pose out by the fountain at Lincoln Center.
Mathilda is Molly’s oldest child with her husband Panio Gianopoulos, 48, who she’s been married to since 2007. The Sixteen Candles actress gave birth to Mathilda in 2003. The pair also have fraternal twins, Adele and Roman, both 14, who she had in 2009. The outing came just two days after Mathilda’s 20th birthday. Molly celebrated her daughter beginning a new decade in an Instagram post with adorable throwback photos of her, as well as a more recent shot.
While Molly is probably best known for her appearances in many beloved ‘80s movies, she did admit that she can’t watch them with her younger daughter, given some of the aspects that haven’t aged well, in an April interview with The Guardian. “She’s very liberal. I mean, I’m very liberal, but she’s another level. Which she should be, and I’m glad,” she said.
