EPAThe late George Michael was posthumously awarded the Academy Fellowship, the highest honour of The Ivors Academy, recognizing his profound “excellence and impact in the art and craft of music creation.” His Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley accepted the award, stating that songwriting was “the window to his soul.” Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke also received the Fellowship, with a surprise presentation by Harry Styles, who humorously shared a personal anecdote connected to one of the band’s songs.
