Belal Mitu said Sheeran had been visiting his Framlingham restaurant for about 10 years

“Yesterday I saw him and I said, ‘You’ve come a long way [from America for a curry]’,” Mitu explained. “He said, ‘Yes, I miss the curry because there is no curry like this there’. That’s amazing, we feel very proud.”

Sheeran, who relocated to the United States last year, maintains his residence in Suffolk, a property noted for its two on-site pubs. When queried by Mitu about potentially moving his family permanently across the Atlantic, Sheeran reportedly responded emphatically, “No Mitu, this is my home, this really is my home.”

The internationally acclaimed artist is a frequent attendee at Ipswich Town football matches and maintains deep roots in Framlingham. Mitu shared that his staff find great joy in his visits, and his children have had the opportunity to meet him on several occasions. Notably, the restaurant staff once prepared a curry for rapper Stormzy during a visit with Sheeran in Suffolk.

“He’s very friendly, like a normal customer,” Mitu remarked about Sheeran’s demeanor. “Even when he comes to the restaurant and it’s full of customers, he just says, ‘If anyone wants to take a picture, I will take it’. You just can’t believe he’s a superstar when you see him.”
