Record Purse Shatters Expectations: KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Prize Payouts Revealed

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has announced a significant increase in its prize money, elevating the total purse to $13 million. This landmark figure sets a new record for prize money in women’s professional golf.

This marks the ninth consecutive year the event has seen an increase in its purse. A notable surge occurred in 2022 when the prize money doubled to $9 million. The current $13 million purse surpasses the $12.5 million awarded at this year’s U.S. Women’s Open held at Riviera Country Club.

This year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is being hosted at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The tournament boasts the strongest field in women’s golf, featuring a compelling narrative as world number one Nelly Korda aims to secure her third consecutive major championship victory this season, continuing her pursuit of a Grand Slam.

Tim Walsh, U.S. Chair and CEO for KPMG, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We’re proud to deliver the premier major on the LPGA Tour. Working with the PGA of America and the LPGA Tour, we’re combining a record purse with technology that gives players better, real-time insight into their performance, along with broader, more dynamic coverage for fans. It’s all about continuing to build momentum for women’s golf.”
