For the cover of the August 4, 2025, edition, the artist Victoria Tentler-Krylov portrayed a scene outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art on a typical summer afternoon. “The Met can serve as a sanctuary from the elements, the clamor, and the frenzy of the city,” Tentler-Krylov remarked. “And, on swelteringly hot days, when the nearby buildings create shadows on the steps, solace can be discovered even before entering the museum.”
