In-cosmetics Asia Awards: This Year’s Champions?

The triumphants of the in-cosmetics Asia 2025 Awards have been announced, honouring the foremost pioneering cosmetic ingredients introduced in the preceding eight months.

A record-setting 120 submissions were made this year, appreciating the highest quality new Innovation Zone dynamic and operative ingredients, coupled with the Spotlight On Formulation Awards appraised live during the event.

The evaluation committee comprised global cosmetic experts, R&D executives and product innovators from prominent corporations, such as L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Amorepacific and Paragon Corp. They examined entries based on standards of inventiveness, effectiveness, and relevance to the market.

Active ingredients

Within the 2025 Actives division, the Gold Prize was bestowed upon ArrowBiome Pte. Ltd. for ArcherZyme, the globe’s premier clinically validated lysin designed for body odour management, revolutionizing anti-odour protection ingenuity. Demonstrated clinically to impart swift, enduring freshness with only 0.01%, ArcherZyme presents a sustainable, cruelty-free, and biodegradable substitute to conventional deodorant components.

Hallstar was presented with the silver prize for UBI Oléoactif, which facilitates skin renewal through a ground-breaking biological process that impacts ubiquitin – a crucial cellular protein. Sourced from a birchwood by-product and supported by multi-ethnic clinical investigations, UBI Oléoactif stands as the pioneering cosmetic active to target ubiquitin for apparent enhancements in skin vigour and complexion.

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant secured a bronze prize for GlowCytocin, which triggers oxytocin receptors within the skin, the well-known “love hormone” channel, to elicit an intrinsic, vibrant radiance. Enriched with 1-Deoxynojirimycin (DNJ), a neuroprotective element derived from Hyacinth bulbs, GlowCytocin introduces a proprietary, neurocosmetic strategy that bridges emotional contentment with tangible aesthetic merits.

Functional ingredients

In the 2025 Functional Division, Gold was awarded to Momentive Performance Materials for their Harmonie NatuVel gel. This entirely natural gel network furnishes formulators with a next generation of sensorial output, delivering a soft-focus, mattifying outcome alongside a delicate, supple sensation. Tailored for skincare and makeup items, it empowers wholly natural formulations without compromising efficacy or opulent feel.

Dow acquired the Silver Prize for their Dexcare CD-2 Polymer component, which transforms sustainable haircare utilizing a biofermented dextran foundation sourced from non-GMO sugarcane. This eco-friendly polymer amplifies deposition, enhances foaming capabilities in sulfate-free frameworks, and refines wet and dry brushing for silkier, more compliant hair.

Bronze was granted to Hallstar for Olivem Essenza, a naturally procured O/W emulsifier conceived for low-viscosity blends boasting a subtle, hydrating sensation. Functioning as a biomimetic liquid crystal creator, it imparts moisture and firmness while endorsing minimalist, environmentally conscious formulation blueprints.

Spotlight On Formulation Awards

Acknowledging ingenuity and scientific brilliance within cosmetic biotechnology, the Spotlight On Formulation Gold Award was presented to Solabia Group for Serenibiome, a dual-patented dynamic ingredient stemming that rectifies skin irritability and aids in interrupting the itch-scratch sequence. Evonik secured Silver for X50 NeoSyno-Col, a state-of-the-art “Cosmetic Drone” engineered to amplify skin suppleness, strength and compactness via concentrated dermal conveyance. Ichimaru Pharcos Co., Ltd. accepted Bronze for Rice Bran Ferment, an upcycled beauty element that leverages unrefined rice bran to mildly purify and saturate the epidermis while elevating smoothness and ease.
