Actor Jesse Eisenberg announced he would donate his kidney to a stranger. He said he first considered donating his kidney about ten years ago, but his request was ignored. Later, in a conversation with a doctor, he reiterated his desire to help those in need and was recommended to a New York medical center where an altruistic donor program is actively developing.
Eisenberg emphasized that the procedure, in his opinion, is “virtually risk-free” and could save someone's life.
“Let's say person X needs a kidney in Kansas City, and their child isn't a suitable donor. But if I'm a suitable donor, they can get my kidney, and their child might be able to help someone else,” the actor explained the principle of the exchange donor chain.

In the United States, there are currently nearly 100,000 people on the kidney transplant waiting list. The donor shortage, according to Eisenberg, was one of the reasons he decided to take the step toward living donation.
The actor has long been involved in charity work and regularly donates blood. His decision, Jesse himself admits, was a natural extension of his personal principles.
