The street style chronicle of the last Fashion Week in Paris proved that black leather items are triumphantly returning to our wardrobes. Fashionistas are not just adding them to their looks, but making them the main accent. Some choose long leather trench coats in the style of the 1980s, with emphasized shoulders and a tight waist, some prefer minimalist models in the spirit of “The Matrix”, and some turn up the heat with a combination of a daring leather jacket and a mini skirt, inspired by the photos of supermodels in the lens of Peter Lindbergh. Another popular variation that we saw this fall on the streets of fashion capitals is leather two-pieces with skirts, in which office chic is combined with a biker character.

One of the main reasons black leather is so popular is its versatility. “If you find the perfect fit, it will stay relevant from season to season,” says Tiffany Hsu, vice president of women's and children's buying at Mytheresa. “Leather is a real investment that has a timeless appeal.”
Among the factors of relevance are nostalgia for the 1990s, considered one of the most fashionable decades of the 20th century, and a return to glamour after the years of “comfortable clothing.” So while for some, black leather is the new big trend, for others it has already become a timeless classic, without which it is difficult to imagine your own wardrobe.
