Residents of Bashkortostan demanded that Yegor Creed's status as an Honored Artist be revoked.

The awarding of the title “Honored Artist of Bashkortostan” to Yegor Creed has sparked controversy. Following a concert in Ufa, where the singer received the honorary award from local authorities, signatures began to be collected in the region to have it revoked.

A petition published on a public portal has already garnered over 300 signatures. Its authors claim that the artist's work “does not reflect the spiritual and cultural values of the region” and point to the presence of obscene language in some of his songs. Examples cited include the tracks “Beri v rot” (Take It in Your Mouth) and “Pussy Boy,” which have sparked mixed reactions on social media.

The award discussion quickly spread beyond the region, with users across the country and even prominent cultural figures joining in. Among them was actress Yana Poplavskaya, who publicly expressed the opinion that Creed's work “is far removed from the traditional values upon which Russian culture is built.”

Yegor Creed himself, upon receiving the title, emphasized his connection to Bashkiria, noting that his family hails from the region. However, the artist has not yet commented on the petition.
