JLo’s Red Suit Power Move on “The Last Mrs. Parrish” Set

Quite different from J.Lo’s familiar off-duty fashion

Crimson suit, gloved hands, and an expansive hat: in case you believed you spotted Jennifer Lopez meandering the streets of New York City the other day, you may have confused her with Daphne Parrish, her character in the upcoming The Last Mrs. Parrish. Taping for the cinematic interpretation of Liv Constantine’s 2017 tome, the actress was seen in Midtown with director Robert Zemeckis and costar Isabel May in a style deviating from her usual streetwear.

The wool jacket, a Dior design fabricated from wool and silk materials, was structured with extended sleeves and flap pockets intended to accentuate the torso. As is typical for vintage-inspired creations from the French fashion house, the collar was left unoccupied, sans customary lapels, and coordinated with a complementing midi wrap skirt. For the scene, an aged, crystallized angel wing embellishment was secured to the blazer, and a black leather belt tightened the garment at the waist. Lopez appeared in houndstooth pumps by Manolo Blahnik, and in her gloved hand, she brandished a black leather clutch from Amiri—decorated with a reptile pattern and enhanced with gilded logo specifics. The purse not only echoed her leather belt, but also her wide-brimmed chapeau and black shades.

The Last Mrs. Parrish, which was previously selected as part of Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club, centers on a con-artist’s plot to swindle a prosperous couple and assume the wife’s position. Yet, as she becomes more acquainted with Mrs. Parrish, the more she starts to understand that everything about her “perfect” existence isn’t necessarily what it seems.
