After the first few mesotherapy treatments, the skin becomes hydrated and radiant, with a slight lifting effect. However, sometimes there are no changes at all, as if nothing had been done. The main reason is that mesotherapy must be administered as part of a comprehensive approach: a physician with the correct technique, a properly selected composition, a course of treatments, and post-injection care. Only then will the desired effect be achieved.

An important nuance
In Russian clinics, mesotherapy is offered as a universal solution: cocktails containing hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and amino acids are supposed to improve skin quality, reduce wrinkles, and combat pigmentation. However, this method does not yet have strict international standards. In practice, each clinic uses its own formulations, techniques, and protocols, and there are still few large-scale, comprehensive studies worldwide. Therefore, the results largely depend on the experience of the individual physician, the chosen product, and the patient's skin condition.
Why there may be no effect
Wrong choice of cocktail
One of the most common causes of disappointment is the formulation of the product. If a patient complains of dry skin, and the doctor injects a vitamin complex without a sufficient moisturizing component, the skin will not be nourished.
Or, conversely, for pigmentation, a standard “rejuvenating cocktail” is chosen, which does not contain lightening agents. There are no universal recipes: mesotherapy must be individualized, otherwise the results will be minimal.
Errors in injection technique
Technique plays a key role. Injecting too superficially results in the active ingredients being quickly eliminated and not having time to take effect. Injecting too deeply makes the procedure painful and reduces its effectiveness. Even the uniformity of the injections is important: if the product is distributed unevenly, the renewal will be patchy, and the radiant glow will not be achieved.

Characteristics of the patient's body
Sometimes mesotherapy simply can't penetrate individual barriers. In smokers, people with chronic illnesses, or poor microcirculation, metabolic processes are slower, and injected substances are less well absorbed.
For older patients with compromised skin structure, the effect may only be cumulative – the results will only be noticeable after the course is completed.
Climate and lifestyle
External factors also play a role. In the Russian climate, skin is constantly under stress: dry air and fluctuating temperatures in winter, and heat, stuffiness, and intense sun in summer. Even after properly performed mesotherapy, the effects quickly wear off if the patient doesn't use SPF and neglects regular moisturizing.
Unfinished course
Another reason is interrupted treatment. A single treatment rarely produces visible results. Many become disappointed and stop getting injections, but this is a mistake. Doctors recommend 4 to 6 sessions (the exact number depends on the goal and the current condition of the skin). Afterward, maintenance treatments are recommended every few months.

How to get the desired result
There is only one answer: take into account all the factors that influence the effect you will receive after a course of treatments.
