Michael Friede, who previously served as CEO of Brenntag Specialties, has joined the Symrise Executive Board . He will take over the position of President of the Scent & Care segment , which was held on an interim basis by CEO Dr. Jean-Yves Parisot.
Michael Friede, who has been managing Brenntag Specialties since 2023, has extensive experience in various management positions at Akzo Nobel (Netherlands) and Covestro (Germany and France). He began his career at Bayer AG in Leverkusen (Germany) and Pittsburgh (USA). In addition, he is a member of the supervisory board of Pearl Polyurethane Systems, a leading manufacturer of polyurethane systems with headquarters in Dubai.
Michael Friede was born in 1980. He studied in Madrid, Toronto, Essen, Oxford and London and holds an MBA and a BSc in Business Administration. He is married and has three children.
The Scent & Care division of Symrise specialises in the creation of fragrances, aroma molecules and cosmetic ingredients. Its annual revenue is approximately 2 billion euros.
