Why was the series “And Just Like That” cancelled?
And Just Like That is ending its run because, according to the showrunner, King and Parker came to the joint decision that season three was “a great place to end.”
“And just like that… the ongoing narrative of the Sex and the City universe comes to an end,” King wrote in an Aug. 1, 2025, statement posted to Instagram. “While writing the Season 3 finale, ‘And Just Like That…,’ it struck me that this might be a great place to stop. Together with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys , and Sarah Aubrey, we made the decision to wrap up the hit series this year with two final episodes, and expanded the original run of 10 to 12 episodes.”
King also noted that he and Parker “haven’t announced the news yet because we didn’t want the word ‘finale’ to overshadow the enjoyment of watching the season.”
“We offer our sincere gratitude to all the viewers who have welcomed these characters into their homes and hearts over the years,” the showrunner concluded.
