2025 has been a tough time for television, with networks cutting back on popular shows and viewers saying goodbye to beloved characters. The list of canceled programs continues to grow, with CBS leading the way with some surprising decisions, including the cancellation of S.W.A.T.
Executive producer and showrunner Andrew Dettmann called SWAT’s demise “heartbreaking news,” telling Deadline that the cast and crew were “an incredible group of people who have been incredibly hard-working and dedicated throughout the eight seasons, through many challenges.”
Below is a growing list of TV shows that were cancelled in 2025.
Special forces
In March, the cast and crew of S.W.A.T. gathered to support a possible revival of their show. This isn’t the first time the CBS program has been canceled. Showrunner Shemar Moore thanked fans on Instagram but stressed that he’s “not one to give up.”

FBI: International
Along with SWAT, CBS also pulled FBI: International. Deadline explained the cancellation by saying the network was making room for new projects that are still airing.
FBI: Most Wanted
Also cancelled is the series “FBI: Most Wanted” in addition to “International.”
District
After eight seasons on the air, CBS has announced that The Neighborhood is ending. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach commented on the news, as reported by Variety, noting that the “outstanding cast and creative team” “brought joy, laughter and heartfelt storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons.”
Even though House 2 had high ratings on CBS and was among the best comedies on television, Amy concluded that she felt “the devoted fans deserved a real farewell season, full of the signature humor and touching moments that are synonymous with the show.”
Pappa’s House
After just one season, Poppa’s House was cancelled by CBS in April 2025. The show’s star Damon
