Kamala Harris Announces ‘107 Days’ Memoir – Here’s What We Know

“I have dedicated considerable time to contemplating those times and with honesty and introspection,” remarked the former vice president.

Kamala Harris is set to publish a memoir that will provide readers with an insider’s look at her groundbreaking presidential campaign.

The title, 107 Days, signifies the duration of Harris’s 2024 campaign, which began after President Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy and endorsed the vice president as his successor. The book, set to be released by Simon & Schuster, will be available on September 23.

“Just over a year ago, I commenced my campaign for the presidency of the United States. One hundred and seven days traversing the nation, advocating for our future. The briefest presidential campaign in modern history. It was intense, high-stakes, and profoundly personal for both me and many of you,” Harris stated in a video posted to her social media platforms. “Since leaving office, I’ve devoted significant time to reflecting on those days, engaging with my team, my family, my friends, and organizing my thoughts. Essentially, I’ve been writing a journal, which has become this book, 107 Days. With transparency and reflection, I’ve chronicled the behind-the-scenes aspects of that journey.”

She continues, “I believe there is merit in sharing what I witnessed, what I learned, and what I know it will require to progress. While writing this book, one truth repeatedly surfaced. Sometimes the struggle takes time, but I remain filled with hope and maintain a clear perspective. I will never cease my efforts to ensure our country embodies the highest ideals on behalf of the people.”

Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp remarked that Harris’s memoir “covers everything we would want her to cover,” though he opted not to divulge specific details about the contents, as reported by the Associated Press.

Harris’s candidacy represented significant milestones in the U.S. political arena; she became the first Black woman and the first Asian American to receive the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. She ultimately lost to President Donald Trump after trailing in key battleground states during the general election.

Harris announced her memoir the day after revealing that she has no intentions of running for governor of California in 2026. “In recent months, I have seriously considered requesting the privilege to serve as the Governor of California,” she stated. “I cherish this state, its citizens, and its potential. It is my home. However, after thorough reflection, I’ve decided not to pursue the Governorship in this election. … For the time being, my leadership—and public service—will not take place in an elected office.”
