“I’m still proud to say that I was Hannah Montana because she had a significant influence on Miley,” Miley Cyrus said when accepting the Disney Legend Award in August 2024. As many millennials and Gen Zers know, both Miley and Hannah played important roles in raising those generations — so much so that fans are eagerly awaiting the 2026 Hannah Montana Tour. After all, Miley’s blonde alter ego is approaching its 20th anniversary, and she has an idea for how to celebrate.
“That was really the beginning of it all,” Miley admitted in a July 2025 interview with Sirius XM. “It’s also weird to think that I started out as a character that I thought would never be able to get rid of. When I go to a place, it’s like nostalgia, but now I’ve become a part of everyone’s lives as a character.”
So, can we really expect Hannah to return (at least for once)? Find out everything Miley had to say about it below.
Is the Hannah Montana tour really happening in 2026?
Sorry, Hannah Montana fans, but an official tour in 2026 has not been confirmed at this time. All Miley said during her Sirius XM appearance was, “I want to create something really unique” for Hannah’s 20th anniversary. That could mean a lot, but Miley has noted that she’s not looking to tour anytime soon. She probably won’t be doing a tour, but a concert could happen.
Is Miley Cyrus Bringing Back Hannah Montana?
While Miley hasn’t announced any official plans for a Hannah Montana reboot, she’s never ruled out the possibility. In September 2020, while appearing on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, the “Flowers” singer noted, “Hannah is still on the shelf.”
“You know when something is like a good vintage T-shirt? It takes a while for it to be good again,” Miley said. “It goes through a phase where it’s just old, and then it’s so old that it’s good again. That’s why we have to wait. Hannah is like a good wine. You have to wait until she’s ready.”
Does Disney Want to Reboot Hannah Montana?
No one from the Walt Disney Company has officially expressed interest in reviving the series. However, almost all of the original cast members are sympathetic. Jason Earles previously mentioned that he had suggested “reimagining” the series in the summer of 2024, but that it was “not the right time.”

“It conflicts with some other projects in development or something,” the actor told Deadline at the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premiere in October.
