In March 2006, the singer-songwriter was catapulted into the limelight when her teenage comedy series, Hannah Montana, premiered on Disney Channel and swiftly became one of the most prosperous shows in the network’s history. The storyline—revolving around a teenage girl who leads a typical life by day and performs as a pop star by night—was just a dream for Cyrus, who faced instant fame during her childhood. However, the series significantly contributed to her rise as one of the leading pop stars of her generation, and now, as the show marks its 20th anniversary, Cyrus is contemplating how to celebrate the occasion.
“I want to create something truly special for it because it was genuinely the start of everything,” she shared with Chris Olsen during a TikTok Radio interview. “Without Hannah, there wouldn’t be this—this version of me.”
Hannah Montana aired for a total of four seasons, concluding in January 2011, and garnered four Emmy Award nominations throughout its run. After the show wrapped, Cyrus began to shift towards more mature acting roles and music, sparking a few controversies along the way.
In a recent radio conversation, Cyrus discussed her desire to dissociate her image from the show during her younger years.

“It’s wild to realize that I began as a character I thought would be impossible to shake off, and now it’s something that, when I enter a room, it’s viewed with a sense of nostalgia or something reminiscent of childhood,” she reflected. “So, it’s thrilling to celebrate that.”
Whether this celebration will take the form of a live event remains uncertain. In recent years, Cyrus has stated she has no plans to engage in traditional stadium tours.
